John Wooden on true success.  The greats understand that simple is best.

“This is the thing: When you hit 28 or 30, everything begins to divide. You can see very clearly two kinds of people. On one side, people who have used their 20s to learn and grow, to find … themselves and their dreams, people who know what works and what doesn’t, who have pushed through to become…

“Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life or do you want to come with me and change the world?”
That’s a Steve Jobs quote.  The basic premise: think big or go home.  Considering the sad news today about Mr Jobs passing, this quote really summed up his life.  It’s so direct and simple.  It’s not a question but a call to arms:
What kind of life do I want to live?  Will I challenge the status quo or will I go with my gut and challenge the world, in my own unique way?  Very few people summon the courage to follow their instincts, but the few that do usually knock it out of the park.

A Beautiful song by one of America’s most gifted songwriters, Ryan Adams.  It appears this song is about examining the wreckage of a relationship and a turbulent life.

If you’ve been in love and you’re a reflective person, then you know what this song feels like.

Was this filmed on VHS or a setting on some fancy schmancy digital camera? I would like to know.

One of my bibles.  This is a must read for anyone who loves music.  Dylan is like Zeus.  No one can top him.  The book has soaring insights into Dylan’s life and appreciation of music, life, human relationships and romance, and the undying pursuit of one’s vision.  Powerful stuff.
